Wk8-Art Experience-Japanese Garden Sketches

This art experience was about sketching at the Japanese Garden at CSULB. It was my very first time going to the university’s garden and I have to say it was very exciting. It was a lot better than I expected. I did not think the garden would be so full and peaceful. They had a lot of fishes there and I thought that they were super cute. Personally, I have a huge fondness for fish and aquatic animals so I was really happy just being able to see so many koi fish swimming around and making ripples wherever they went. On that note, I drew ripples around the fish that I painted as well. I tried to draw the nature that was around me, including a tree and a section of plants that was near me at the time. I had a lot of fun doodling and also wanted to keep the sketches very simple. They came out in a abstract style in a sense and I liked it a lot. I thought it was really neat going out under the sun and having some time to relax and draw after a whole week of midterms. I’ll be back to visit the garden again one day and I really enjoyed the activity. I miss the little fish already!
